Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad are one of the most talked-about couples in Bollywood right now. The actress and the political activist tied the knot in a registered marriage last month in Mumbai, but they didn’t stop there. They decided to celebrate their union with a series of traditional functions spanned across Delhi and Bareilly.
The final event of their wedding festivity was a Walima, a post-wedding reception hosted by the groom’s family. The Walima took place at Fahad’s hometown Bareilly, where his close friends and relatives gathered to bless the newlyweds.
Swara looked stunning in a gold lehenga that she paired with matching jewelry and a dupatta. She completed her look with a red bindi and sindoor. Fahad matched her elegance in a gold sherwani that he accessorised with a turban and a brooch. The couple posed for pictures with their guests and smiled for the cameras.
The Walima was preceded by several other functions that showcased Swara and Fahad’s diverse cultural backgrounds and interests.
They had a haldi, mehendi, Carnatic musical evening, sangeet, qawwali night and reception at Swara’s nana’s farmhouse in Delhi. They also had an intimate nikkah ceremony at their home in Mumbai.
Swara and Fahad met through mutual friends and bonded over their shared passion for social causes. They started talking every day and became each other’s support system during tough times. Swara revealed that Fahad never tried to make a move on her and always respected her space. She said that she felt very safe with him.
The couple has also been vocal about their love for each other on social media. They often share adorable pictures and videos of themselves on Instagram and Twitter. They also express their opinions on various issues that matter to them.
