Terror case against Pakistan’s former PM Imran Khan

The Pakistan police have launched a terrorism case against former PM Imran Khan after the clash between PTI party workers and police, right outside the court where the former PM was to appear in the graft case in Islamabad.

The clash between Imran’s party workers and police on Saturday in Lahore gave rise to riots in Pakistan, as there were several clashes between them after the Lahore incident. Many members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have been arrested, and many of them have been accused of terrorism. Petrol bombs and weapons have been recovered from khans’ residence in Zaman Park, where 10,000 police officials had launched an operation.

Over 50 police officials have been injured, and many vehicles have been torched during the riots. The party workers were throwing stones at police officials and thereafter, riot police used batons and tear gas to counter them.

Khan made a tweet, demanding the release of his party workers immediately, and also said that the attack outside the court was a plan to kill him. After that, he requested the chief justice of Pakistan to conduct his further trials via digital mode.

How the protest started.

After the residence of Imran khan was raided by Pakistan Police on 18th march and several party workers of PTI were arrested there along with several petrol bombs and weapons, the supporters of Imran khan protested against this operation and became violent in several regions of Pakistan.

On the 19th of March, a massive protest broke down when the former prime minister was brought to the court. The protestor broke the barricades and started to throw stones at the police.
