India will be hosting the Cricket world cup in Oct. 2023. There were questions about the participation of the Pakistan cricket team. Now there is a clear picture.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has assured that the Indian government will grant the Pakistan cricket team visas to participate in the ICC World Cup 2023, which India will host for the first time as a sole host.

The BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed this during Thursday’s virtual meeting of the ICC chief executives’ committee.

Pakistan is one of the ten teams competing for the coveted trophy in the 50-over tournament, following a round-robin format followed by knockouts.

The top seven teams from the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League 2020-23, along with India as hosts, will qualify directly for the World Cup. A qualifier tournament will decide the remaining two spots.

This will be the first time that Pakistan will play in a World Cup in India since 1996 when they reached the final but lost to Sri Lanka.

The two teams have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13 due to political tensions between the two countries. However, they have faced each other in ICC events such as the Champions Trophy and World T20.

The ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled for October to November 2023 across nine venues in India. The final match will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 26.
