On Saturday, April 8, the University of Oklahoma in the United States announced that there was an active shooter within its institute grounds.

The institution announced the possibility of an active shooter on their campus via its official Twitter account.
As per NDTV reports, on Saturday, April 8, the University tweeted that they may have heard gunfire on its Norman campus.
Only after the officials searched the campus, the University lifted the emergency.
Authorities searched the college campus for the gunman while warning students to stay away from the South Oval area and take cover somewhere.
Multiple police and SWAT tactical vehicles were visible outside the University of Oklahoma in images from the local media.
Just a few days prior, a school shooting in Nashville claimed the lives of two nine-year-old girls, one nine-year-old boy, two teachers, and a school custodian.
