Fans of ‘Game of Thrones’ have something to look forward to as HBO Max has officially announced a new prequel series based on the Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas by George R.R. Martin.
The series, titled ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, will follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, who would later become King Aegon V Targaryen.
What are the Tales of Dunk and Egg?
The Tales of Dunk and Egg are a series of three novellas written by George R.R. Martin, set in the same world as ‘Game of Thrones’, but about 90 years before the events of the main series.
The novellas chronicle the travels and exploits of Ser Duncan, a hedge knight who befriends a young boy named Egg, who is secretly a Targaryen prince. Together, they witness and participate in various historical events that shape the Seven Kingdoms.

Who will star in ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’?
HBO Max has not yet revealed the cast for ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, but it is expected that the series will feature some familiar faces from ‘Game of Thrones’ and new actors.
Some characters that could appear in the prequel series include Bloodraven, Maester Aemon, Baelor Breakspear, and Daeron the Drunken.
When will ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ premiere?
‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ is still in early development, so there is no official release date yet. However, HBO Max has ordered a full season of 10 episodes, suggesting that production will begin soon.
The series will join another ‘Game of Thrones prequel, ‘House of the Dragon’, which will debut in 2022 and focus on the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.
