Sourav Ganguly assessed the pitch and conditions at the ground and reported, “It’s a bright, sunny afternoon, but it will get a lot cooler as the sun comes down.

“It’s a hard, drop-in pitch which has a fair bit of grass, but it is brown. It is a good batting surface. Mistimings here will land in the upper tiers at this smallish ground”.
