The 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism was a grand celebration of the best in Hindi cinema. The event, held on April 27, 2023, at the Jio World Conventional Centre in Mumbai, was hosted by Salman Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana and Maniesh Paul. The night was filled with dazzling performances, hilarious moments and emotional speeches.
So Alia Bhatt was the theme of Filmfare Awards 2023.

Filmfare.com released the list of winners Friday.
The big winners
The biggest winner of the night was Gangubai Kathiawadi, the biographical drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Alia Bhatt in the titular role. The film bagged 10 trophies, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design. Alia Bhatt delivered a powerful speech while accepting her award, dedicating it to the women who have faced hardships and injustice in their lives.

Another film that won big was Badhaai Do, the comedy sequel to the 2018 hit Badhaai Ho. The film won six awards, including Best Film (Critics’), Best Actor for Rajkummar Rao, Best Actress (Critics’) for Bhumi Pednekar and Best Story. Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar thanked their co-star Sheeba Chaddha, who also won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rajkummar’s mother.
The third film that scored high was Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, the fantasy adventure directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film won five awards, including Best Music Album for Pritam, Best Lyrics for Amitabh Bhattacharya and Best Sound Design for Bishwadeep Dipak Chatterjee. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt also performed a romantic song from the film on stage.

The other highlights
Some of the other memorable moments of the night were:
- Anil Kapoor winning Best Supporting Actor for his role as a retired actor in Jug Jugg Jeeyo. He thanked his co-stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor for their support and camaraderie.
- Tabu sharing the Best Actress (Critics’) award with Bhumi Pednekar for her role as a ghost in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. She joked that she was happy to share the award with someone who was alive.
- Sanjay Mishra winning Best Actor (Critics’) for his role as a struggling actor in Vadh. He said that he was grateful to the critics for recognizing his work and hoped that more people would watch his film.
- Vicky Kaushal paying tribute to the Indian Army with his performance on patriotic songs. He also presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to veteran actor Prem Chopra.
- Tiger Shroff setting the stage on fire with his dance moves on popular songs. He also performed a stunt where he jumped from a height of 20 feet.
- Janhvi Kapoor dancing on songs from her films Roohi and Dostana 2. She also interacted with Salman Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana on stage.
- Govinda making a surprise appearance and dancing on his hit songs with Jacqueline Fernandez. He also received a standing ovation from the audience.
The 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism was a night to remember for all the fans of Hindi cinema. It celebrated the talent, creativity and diversity of the industry and honoured the films that entertained and inspired us in 2023.
