It’s official: Taylor Swift and Matty Healy are an item. The pop superstar and the frontman of The 1975 were seen locking lips at a cozy restaurant in New York City on Thursday night, confirming their romance after months of speculation.
The pair, who met backstage at The 1975’s concert in Los Angeles in 2014, have been keeping their relationship under wraps, but they couldn’t hide their affection for each other during their intimate dinner date.
A source told E! News that Swift and Healy arrived at the restaurant around 8 p.m. and were seated at a corner table. They ordered wine and shared a pizza, while chatting and laughing throughout the night.

“They looked very happy and comfortable with each other,” the source said. “They were holding hands and leaning in for kisses. They seemed very into each other.”
The source added that Swift and Healy left the restaurant around 10 p.m. and headed to a nearby hotel, where they spent the night together.
Swift, 33, and Healy, 34, have been linked since late 2014 when Healy wore a “1989” T-shirt during his band’s concert in Milwaukee, and Swift attended his show in Los Angeles a few weeks later. They exchanged numbers and sparked dating rumors, but Healy denied any romantic involvement.
In 2016, Healy made some controversial comments about Swift in an interview with Q Magazine, saying that it would be “emasculating” for him to date her. He later apologized and clarified that they never dated and that he had nothing but respect for her.
Since then, Swift and Healy have reconnected and rekindled their friendship, eventually blossoming into something more. Healy recently attended all three of Swift’s tour stops in Nashville, where they reportedly got closer than ever.
Swift, who split from longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn earlier this year, has not commented on her relationship with Healy yet. However, fans are already speculating that her next album will feature songs inspired by her new beau.
Healy, who has been vocal about his struggles with addiction and mental health, has also not publicly addressed his romance with Swift. However, he has hinted at some new music coming soon from his band.
