What We Know So Far

Koratala Siva, who directed NTR Jr.’s “Janatha Garage” and whose most recent movie was “Acharya,” starring megastar Chiranjeevi and “RRR” star Ram Charan, is back with NTR Jr. for “Devara,” a title that directly translates to “God or Godlike.” Saif Ali Khan  and Janhvi Kapoor (who also starred in “Mili”) also have significant parts in the movie.

Produced by Mikkilineni Sudhakar and Kosaraju Hari Krishna, the movie has been scheduled for release throughout India on April 5, 2024. The music is handled by Anirudh Ravichander, the cinematography by R Rathnavelu, the art department is led by Subu Cyril, and the editor is Sreekar Prasad.

The Poster

Today, on the occasion of NTR’s 40th birthday, the film’s producers unveiled the title and a fierce and commanding first look. The poster has NTR clutching a large weapon while dressed in a lungi.

The first look picture shows NTR in a vicious avatar wearing just all-black clothing, standing on the rocks while brandishing a weapon by the sea. In the distance, we can see a boat filled with dead bodies. Anybody would be terrified just by the poster.

The movie’s announcement video, Koratala Siva’s speech, and now the first look countdown posters have all raised the bar for the film and made us look forward to even the upcoming promotional materials.

The Storyline

The movie is a vengeance drama, the leading man previously revealed to Variety. The movie’s enigmatic slogan reads, “When courage turns into a disease… fear is the only cure,” but the plot specifics are kept under wraps.
