Most Americans can only vaguely recall receiving federal stimulus funds during the COVID-19 outbreak. However, payments for all that from disaster aid to extra tax refunds are still being made at the state level. Several states will be providing stimulus payments to their citizens in 2023 to help them cope with the growing cost of living. The checks’ value varies from state to state, but usually speaking, it is between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars. As well as varied by state, it can depend on your filing status single or joint, and many other things.
Previous Stimulus Checks
Throughout the summer of 2022, New Mexico distributed two waves of relief refunds to all taxpayers. Payments for the first wave ranged from $250 to $500, based on the status of your filing. Payments in the second round ranged from $500 to $1,000. Rebates are also planned by the state for 2023. You can be qualified for the initial stimulus payment if you file your 2021 New Mexico state income tax claim by May 31, 2023, and you don’t get claimed as a beneficiary on anyone else’s form.
