Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez were spotted on a romantic date in the South of France on June 16, 2023. The couple, who were engaged in May, were seen walking hand-in-hand and enjoying a meal at a restaurant in the seaside village of Èze.
Bezos, 59, and Sánchez, 53, were dressed casually for their date, with Bezos wearing a blue button-down shirt and jeans, and Sánchez wearing a white dress. They were also seen sharing a kiss and laughing as they walked along the beach.
The couple’s engagement was first reported by Page Six in May. According to the report, Bezos proposed to Sánchez while they were sailing on his $500 million yacht, the Flying Fox. Sánchez was reportedly wearing a 12-carat diamond ring when she was spotted with the billionaire in France.
Bezos and Sánchez have been dating since 2019. They met through Sánchez’s ex-husband, Patrick Whitesell, who is a talent agent and Bezos’s longtime friend. Bezos and Sánchez have both been through divorces. Bezos finalized his divorce from his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, in 2019, and Sánchez finalized her divorce from Whitesell in 2020.
The couple’s engagement has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have congratulated the couple, while others have criticized Bezos for his wealth and power. However, Bezos and Sánchez seem to be undeterred by the criticism. They are reportedly planning a small wedding later this year.
