The Netherlands defeated west indies in the final group stage match of ongoing cricket world cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.
Having won the toss Netherlands invited West Indians to bat first where they posted a mammoth total of 374. with likes of Nicholas Pooran who scored a quickfire 104 of just 65 balls and Brandon King who scored 76 of 81 balls, Keemo Paul also played a crucial knock of 25 balls 46 which helped west indies to post a total of 374/6 in 50 overs.

In reply, the Netherlands openers gave a good start but could not hold on and got the team in trouble as their score became 170-4. Teja Nidamanuru and captain Scott Edwards had a match-changing partnership in favor of their team in which Teja scored a 76 ball 111 with 11 boundaries and 3 sixes and the captain scored 67 of 47 ball. But game became close as they got out in the end came Logan van Beek who along with Aryan Dutt played some incredible shots to make the Game in their favor. But got out on the last ball of the match, where his team required 1 on 1 ball.

The match progressed into super over where Van Beek batted heroically to score a 30 on 6 balls of Jason Holder. To which the former 2-time world champion failed to chase as van Beek bowled them out for 8 runs for 2 wickets in the super over. Van Beek was awarded the Man of the Match award for his match-winning performance.
The Netherlands finish 2nd in their group with 6 points, and west indies are ranked 3rd with 4 points. Both teams will proceed to super sixes which will begin from 29th of June at Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
