Homelessness is a serious issue that affects millions of people around the world. According to the latest estimates, there are more than 150,000 homeless people in the UK alone, and the number is rising due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That’s why Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, has decided to launch a new campaign to end homelessness in the UK by 2030. The campaign, called “A Home for All”, is a collaboration between The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and several charities and organisations that work with homeless people.
The campaign aims to raise awareness and funds for the cause, as well as to support innovative solutions and initiatives that can prevent and reduce homelessness. Some of the goals of the campaign include:
– Providing more affordable and accessible housing options for people at risk of homelessness
– Improving the quality and availability of support services for homeless people
– Promoting social inclusion and employment opportunities for homeless people
– Advocating for policy changes and reforms that can address the root causes of homelessness
Prince William has been involved in the issue of homelessness for a long time, following the footsteps of his late mother, Princess Diana, who was a patron of Centrepoint, a leading charity for homeless young people. Prince William has also visited several shelters and projects that help homeless people across the UK.
In a statement, Prince William said: “Homelessness is not inevitable. It is a solvable problem that can be tackled with the right approach and resources. I believe that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home, and that’s why I’m launching this campaign to end homelessness in the UK by 2030. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for all.”
