Jungkook’s Solo debut sparked a heated debate among fans worldwide, and it seems that the BTS ARMY is now divided.
As K-pop fans are highly devoted to the fandom, the BTS ARMY has never left a chance to support their favorite idols. Although there’s a lot of unity in the ARMY fanbase, recent news has created a rift between the ARMY as fans are quite debatable about the upcoming release of Jungkook’s solo single and his highly anticipated album, “Seven.”
The debates of Unity and Support have taken a toll on the fandom as it seems that the BTS ARMY is now divided.
Accusations of favoritism and divisions are placed on the fans as in response to the upcoming release, a portion of the ARMY planned a “Jungkook Lockdown,” a social media initiative solely focused on supporting Jungkook s songs and his album.
There seemed to be a lot of disappointment amongst the fans as well because certain fans claimed that some OT7 fan pages were not supporting the Jungkook Lockdown, which invited unfair treatment between the OT7 members.
Fans called this Anti-Fandom behavior as there had been past instances as well where similar lockdowns were organized for other BTS members, such as Jimin and Agust D.
Though the fans of the artist Jungkook tried to suppress the matter and gave their clarifications, saying that their intentions were not to cause harm to the BTS’s unity but to show their support for Jungkook as they are happy that he has stepped into the spotlight with his solo debut. Stating this, they mentioned that supporting their idols in their individual progress is also crucial.
As the debate increased, hashtags of like #Jungkooklockdown and #Jungkook trended on Twitter which showcased the passion and involvement of BTS’s global fanbase.
Though the ARMY is focused on resolving this dispute as soon as possible because BTS’s message of love and unity is a very important part of their identity.
