After more than five years together, Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef have announced their separation. The couple, who share four children, confirmed the news in a joint statement on Tuesday.

A Difficult Decision

In their statement, Martin and Yosef said that they have decided to end their marriage after a long and thoughtful process. They added that they still love and respect each other, and will remain friends and co-parents of their kids.

“We have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision, but we have done so with mutual love and respect. We will continue to be united by friendship and our shared parenting of our amazing children,” the statement read.

A Loving Family

Martin and Yosef met on Instagram in 2016 and got engaged later that year. They secretly tied the knot in 2018 and revealed their marriage during an interview with E! News.

The couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Renn, in October 2019. They are also parents to twins Matteo and Valentino, who were born via surrogate in 2008, and a daughter named Lucia, who was born in December 2018.

Martin and Yosef often shared glimpses of their family life on social media, posting adorable photos and videos of their kids. They also supported each other’s careers, with Martin praising Yosef’s art and Yosef cheering on Martin’s music.

A New Chapter

Despite their split, Martin and Yosef seem to be on good terms and focused on their children’s well-being. They have not deleted any of their previous posts featuring each other, and have not unfollowed each other on Instagram.

They have also not commented further on the reasons behind their breakup, or whether they have any plans to date other people. For now, they seem to be starting a new chapter in their lives as single parents and friends.
