Daniel Radcliffe, popularly known as Harry Potter, has said No to playing the character of Harry Potter of the J. K Rowling‘s book series “Harry Potter.”
In the Interview with Access Hollywood, published on Monday, the actor was asked about his plans to be a part of the upcoming Max TV reboot series, to which he said that he “certainly” hasn’t had any discussions about it.
He commented on the idea of him of appearing in the series and said that “I think it’s very much like, they’re going for a new series, and there will be someone else playing Harry, so I think it will be very weird for me to show up,”
Although Radcliffe said that he really wants to see what other people do with Harry’s character as he said that “I’m very excited to see what other people do with it” . It has been reported that he also compared the on-screen retelling of Potter’s story to how the story of Sherlock Holmes has been cinematically reinterpreted in various ways. With this he expressed his idea that Harry Potter might be expressed in a different time this way, and it’ll be weird of him to jump into that role.
He said that“I think the ‘Potter’ series of books was always going to be bigger than one interpretation or one franchise so it’ll be cool to see the torch get passed on,”
In April, Warner Bros. and Max announced that the studio is producing a scripted “Harry Potter” television series, with the promise that the new show will be a “faithful adaptation” of Rowling’s book series. Amazingly, the author who published the “Potter” books between 1997 and 2007 is also serving as an executive producer.
It has been promised that each season “will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core.”
The caste of the series are yet to be announced but as per the rumors, new faces will be portraying the character of Harry Potter, Ron Wesealy and Hermione Granger.
