How To Cook Savaji Mutton Chops - Recipe

Savaji food would be a must if you had a chance to visit North Karnataka, particularly Hubli-Dharwad twin cities. So this recipe is advised to all visitors who come to the twin cities. Let’s take a look at how to prepare one of the dishes. The dish is called savaji mutton chops. This is usually prepared with mutton and green chilli and will be a yellow-green colour curry.

Savaji mutton Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Kg mutton
  • 2-3 medium-sized onions. Cut them into long thin slices.
  • 2-3 medium-sized tomato puree
  • make chilli paste
  • One lemon juice
  • Ginger and garlic paste
  • Chop Kotmari leaves
  • Pudina (mint) leaves (Optional)
  • Oil and ghee
  • Salt, haldi and garam masala
  • Roasted coconut paste – 4-5 spoon

How To Cook Savaji Mutton Chops - Recipe

Method:

Wash mutton and add 1/2 lemon juice, ginger, and garlic one spoon each. Add salt and haldi accordingly.

Keep the mixed mutton masala for 30-45 minutes.

Gravy:

Take a cooker, heat 3/4th cup of oil and three spoons of ghee, add taste Patta, long sliced onion, saute it nicely until it becomes golden brown.

Saute 3-4 spoons of chilli paste and half spoon each ginger and garlic paste. Now add mutton in it and fry it nicely. Then add two spoons of garam masala, salt, and haldi if required.

Now add chopped coriander and mint leaves and again fry it nicely for 2-3 mins.

Then add tomato puree until oil separates; now add 2-3 cups of water and coconut paste according to your gravy requirement.

Mix it nicely, close the pressure cooker, and make 2-3 whistles. Please open it and see. If not cooked, allow it to cook with the half lid open.

If water is less, then add water to it and make a semi gravy.

Now the delicious savaji chops masala is ready to serve.
