Hollywood is going through one of the most important historical phases in world history. An industry that has produced many blockbuster movies and set the standards for filmmaking and storytelling is on the verge of its greatest shutdown ever.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has now joined the protest with her social media posts.
The leaders of the Hollywood Screen Actors Guild stopped production in the entertainment industry by going out with writers for the first time in over sixty years. ‘SAG-AFTRA'(The Screen Actors Guild – Federation of Television and Radio Artists of America) went on strike in retaliation for all broken negotiations regarding new contracts with studios and broadcast services. These issues were raised to pay authors better and ensure artificial intelligence (AI) protection.

Priyanka Chopra continues her support for the ‘SAG-AFTRA’ strike. Priyanka shared a poster on her Instagram account that reads “SAG AFTRA STRONG”. In a statement, she wrote: “I stand with unions and my colleagues. Together we will build a better tomorrow. ❤️🙏🏽 #SagAftraStrong #SagAftraStrike.
The actress has often talked about equal pay and even recently opened up about some people “fighting” with her in Bollywood. Priyanka recently claimed she got “equal pay” for the first time at the Citadel. On “Film Companion,” she told me, “I didn’t even think about it when my manager said to me, ‘You’re playing with a star; let’s talk to Amazon and try to make you an equal’.” The Citadel Actress continued, “I was like, ‘You can try, but it won’t happen.’ I don’t believe it.
Because years ago, I fought this war and had such a conversation. When asked if she is fighting the same battle in India, Priyanka smiled and said, “Yes”. So I never wanted equality. Are you kidding? I just want some more, woh bhi nahi milta tha (even if I can’t get it). So, I just gave up the fight.
Priyanka is ranked in “President of State,” starring John Cena and Idris Elba.
