Meanwhile, in South Goa, two people died on Sunday as the Goa Forestry Department prevented people from entering the waterfall at a wildlife sanctuary. In an order issued late Tuesday, wildlife director Uma Kante has banned access to “all wildlife areas and waterfalls” until further notice, due to “increased rainfall and rapid water flow in forested areas across the state.”
Following the footsteps of neighboring states, Karnataka also took precautions and banned tourists from visiting the waterfall in Karnapur Tharuk in Belagavi district. The move comes after Goa banned tourists from popular tourist destinations, including Dudsaga Falls.
