New York City Mayor Eric Adams said the city has reached capacity and can accommodate the newcomers.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said, “we’re running out of glass” after he said the city has welcomed 90,000 immigrants since April 2022.
Adams said at a press conference, “We said and talked months ago that we had reached capacity, and now New York is about to realize its vision. We are out of place in the city, and we need help.”
The mayor handed out a poster in support of his idea and asked people to “think about other cities” and said, “There’s no guarantee we’ll be able to stay and help the newcomers.

The mayor said, ‘This cannot continue, it is not stable, and we will not pretend to be stable’. “New York City is facing a national crisis, and that’s wrong.”
Under the new plan to solve the immigration problem, Adam explained that an older people immigrant could live in the city’s residences for 60 days before applying for a place again.
According to Politico, between April 2022 and April 2023, the city spent about $50,000 back from twelve in various parts of the United States, including Florida, Texas, and North Carolina, as well as other countries, including South American countries and even China, of immigrants.
The outlet also reported that five families were sent to other countries – Peru, China, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
In the past, Adams has argued that it is “humane for America” not to allow approximately 84,000 immigrants to come to New York to work legally in the United States.
“It’s incredible what happened to people in New York who experienced this. Nothing could be more anti-American than coming to America and not being able to find a job,” Adams said.
He Added, ‘Everyone in this room is family members from somewhere. The light of this country can come here.
