Twitter replaces bird Symbol with 'X'

On Monday, the social media network introduced the company’s new logo: a white X on a black background. Twitter owner Elon Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino introduced the new logo of the social media network.

Yaccarino tweeted, “X is here! Let’s do it,” along with an image of the logo projected on the company’s San Francisco office. The new logo is the latest change since Musk bought the social media platform for $44 billion last year.

In several posts on his account on Sunday, the billionaire Twitter said he hopes to change the world as soon as Monday. Musk tweeted: “Soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter name and gradually say goodbye to all the birds”.

“#GoodbyeTwitter” became a trending topic on the platform, with some users criticizing the new logo.

Musk said on Sunday that he wanted to change Twitter’s logo and asked the millions of followers on the platform if they would like to change the color of the website from blue to black.

“The acquisition of Twitter is the impetus for the creation of X, the app for everything,” he said last October.

Musk’s rocket company, SpaceX, is commonly known as SpaceX. In 1999, Musk founded a venture called X.com, an online financial services company now known as PayPal.

Twitter, which is thought to have around 200 million daily active users, has suffered more since the expert bought the so-called Birds app for $44 billion in 2022 and laid off most of its employees.

Since then, many users and advertisers have attacked the social media site over the price of the previously free service, altering the content and backing out of the formerly limited right-wing fund.

Musk said earlier this month that Twitter has lost about half of its ad revenue since taking over in October.

Facebook’s parent company Meta launched its own thread earlier this month under the name Threads, which is estimated to have 150 million users.

But according to market analysis company Sensor Tower, the time users spend in competing apps has decreased in the weeks since they were released.
