Adam Devine doesn’t think Marvel movies do the classic Hollywood comedy genre. Adam Devine, who appeared on Theo Von’s “This Past Weekend” podcast during Netflix’s “out law’s” debate, said that Marvel movies and other superhero movies are killing traditional Hollywood movies.
He got this idea because he thought Marvel movies were so based on entertainment and became movies like your Ant-Man movies and Guardians of the Galaxy. The new de facto movie in Hollywood

The man said, “Now you’re watching a comedy and you think it’s not a comedy. Where’s the joke?
Where are these things? There are still good shows [comedy], but movie comedy… is tough. My thoughts: I think Marvel screwed it up. I feel like superhero movies are destroying the theater because you go to movie theaters and you want to see movies that cost $200 million to produce, and it’s not a comedy movie. I mean, ‘Why should I spend the same amount of money on a little comedy when I can spend the same amount on a $200 million comedy in theaters?
They’re still making funny movies, ‘Oh my god, is the mouse talking? This is very funny! True, but not really fun.
“It’s normal for every studio to release a few stories a year,” says Adam Devin. “The theater produces about 45 comedies a year.
So a new comedy comes out every week. Now, there are about six to seven in the last year. This is crazy.
