Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan’s debut film ‘Maharaja’ may be awaiting release, but the young director has bought two more.
Junaid has produced a remake of the 2022 Tamil hit “Love Today” and the Japanese love story that her father Aamir Khan produced.
While he was paired with his wife Sri Devi and Boni Kapoor’s daughter, Khusi Kapoor, in the Love Today remake set to hit theaters early next year, we now have the details of the latter.
Junaid Khan’s film with Aamir Khan Productions will tell the story of the love of life with a supernatural touch.
Junaid will play an insurance agent who falls in love with the soul of a comatose woman.Sunil Pandey, who has a long relationship with Amir and has assisted in films such as Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, Delhi Belly, and Laal Singh Chaddha, joined the as-yet-unnamed film.
Pandey has already started and will begin filming in Japan in October or November. The hero of the movie is not yet completed.
“Junaid Khan” will be Sunil Pandey’s second directorial venture after “Pritam Pyaare”, also produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
Its debut was a small town drama about two brothers played by Sanjay Mishra and Neeraj Sood.Alongside Amir’s production company, Pritam Pyare, he is working on two projects: Laapataa ladies by ex-wife and Dhobi Ghat director Kiran Rao, and RS Prasanna’s remake Champions. Kiran’s movie starring Sparsh Srivastava, Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel will premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
The film, in which RS Prasanna co-stars with Farhan Akhtar, will begin shooting in November 2023.
Amir is also working on a movie starring Fatima Sana Shaikh, but the details of the project have yet to be revealed.Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has yet to complete his next project.
After Laal Singh Chaddha’s disappointing performance, the superstar has slowed down and does not plan to start his next movie until 2024.
However, he is expected to collaborate with 3 Idiots and PK director Rajkumar Hirani on the biographical project. It is still in the negotiation phase.
There are also reports that Amir is talking about the possibility of “Ghajini 2” with Aru Aravind, but no progress yet.
