‘Bholaa Shankar’ Review: Chiranjeevi’s ‘Vedalam’ Remake Unwanted Film?

'Bholaa Shankar' Review: Chiranjeevi's 'Vedalam' Remake Unwanted Film?

Remaking a star-studded show after seven years has a few downsides. When a movie like Ajith Kumar’s Farewell becomes a commercial, the director needs to adapt it to the present tense so that it can more easily resonate.

However, director Meher Ramesh made a mistake in the opening scene of “Bholaa Shankar”, played by Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Let’s move on to the review now

This movie tells the story of Maha Lakshmi’s (Keerthy Suresh) younger brother, Kolkata taxi driver Bora Shankar (Chiranjeevi).

Meanwhile, Kolkata police deal with a gang involved in trafficking women. The gang is led by Alex (Tarun Arura), whose followers are involved in the robbery.

The police warn them with the help of a taxi driver, and Shankar helps arrest some of his men.

Alex wanted to kill Shankar, who foiled his plan and killed his two brothers. What is Shankar’s background? Why are Alex and Shankar bickering? The narrative of the story explores these questions.

Despite some minor changes, “Bholaa Shankar” still faithfully reproduces “Vedalam”.

Chiranjeevi’s decision to continue reshoots makes sense. He said that Vedala is not available on any OTT platform and the story is good enough.

He turned evil when he chose Ajith as his star when his intention was not to harm anyone. The story of “vedalam” is an average commercial that rises with Ajith Kumar’s transformation scenes and some great moments.

The problem here is not choosing “vedalam”, but revisiting after seven long years without a new shot, which is the real problem here.

Meher Ramesh explained in a recent interview that he has 10 times more fear than “Vedalam” movie called Bholaa Shankar.

“Vedalam” works because of Ajiths’ epic transformation scene. However, the change in “Bholaa Shankar” has gotten tough enough to make you scream.

The Telugu version follows the story of “Vedalam” without major changes. As a result, the story and acting seem routine and uninteresting.

Chiranjeevi did her best to keep him on the ground with his charm and dancing.

But all he could do was save the ship. The “Kushi” scene and Chiranjeevi imitating the character of his younger brother Pawan Kalyan could have been a great moment.

However, they are bland and do not evoke any emotion.Keerthy Suresh and Tamannaah look good but you don’t like their acting.

The same goes for the villains. They look like they came straight out of a blazer commercial.

Venela Kishore and Brahmanandam’s cameos do not bring laughter. The songs and background music composed by Mahati Swara Sagar do not add any value to the film.
