United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak attended the Ramayana read by spiritual leader Maurari Bhape at Cambridge University on Tuesday.
The prime minister said he attended the event “as a Hindu”, not as a minister.

Started his speech about the important role of faith and religion in his life with the chant “Jai Siya Ram”.
The prime minister said he is willing to follow the Hindu holy guide leaders.”I am here today as a Hindu, not as a Prime Minister.
For me religion is very personal. It guides everything in my life… For me Lord Rama will always be a supporter.

This is believed to be the first Hindu spiritual event at Cambridge University.

The Gujarat-born spiritual leader is an expert in Ramayana and has been performing Rama chants all over the world for over 50 years.Its first event in the UK took place in 1979.
