The Chinese crime action film “No More Bets” topped the mainland China box office for the fourth consecutive weekend, earning $33.5 million (RMB241 million) between Friday and Sunday. The film has now grossed a cumulative total of $469 million (RMB3.37 billion), making it one of the biggest films in the world this year.

“No More Bets” is a story about a Chinese couple, a computer programmer and a female model, who go overseas and get involved in a fraud scheme. The film has been praised for its action sequences and its suspenseful plot. It has also received strong reviews from audiences, rated 9.4 out of 10 on the movie ticketing platform Taopiaopiao.

This weekend, the second-place film at the Chinese box office was “Meg 2: The Trench,” which earned $29.3 million (RMB207 million). The film is a sequel to the 2018 film “The Meg,” it stars Jason Statham and Li Bingbing.

The third-place film was “Creation of the Gods 1: Kingdom of Storms,” which earned $24.3 million (RMB168 million). The film is a fantasy adventure film set in ancient China.

The Chinese box office is experiencing a strong year, with total box office revenue up 68% from last year. 

This is partly due to the release of several major Chinese films, such as “No More Bets” and “Meg 2: The Trench.” 

The Chinese box office is expected to grow in the coming years as the country’s middle class expands and more people have disposable income to spend on entertainment.

“No More Bets” was released in China on January 27, 2022. It was a commercial success, grossing over 1.3 billion yuan (US$190 million).

The film received positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances, action sequences, and directing.
