Video: Kamal Haasan’s Tamil movie ‘Thoongavanam’ trailer released

Kamal Haasan fans are surprised and ecstatic with the trailer of his new Tamil film “Thoongavanam” released on September 16, 2015.

The official release date of the movie is expected to be around November 2015.

The film stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role while Prakash Raj and Trisha Krishnan play other pivotal roles are played by Prakash Raj and Trisha Krishnan. Actress Asha Sarath plays Hassan’s wife in the film.

The film, helmed by Rajesh M Selva, is also been shot in Telugu with the same case and has been named “Cheekati Rajyam”.

The film is a remake of “Sleepless Nights” – a French film and is expected to be an out and out fast paced thriller.

Hassan also dons the producer’s hat for this movie, while the director is none other than his former assistant. In fact, the director Selva debuts with this film. Cinematographer Sanu Varghese is behind the camera.

The trailer launch of the event was held on September 16, 2015, and the fans got a glimpse of the trailer online. Hassan’s daughter and actress Shruti Haasan was also present at the event.

Critics claim that the film will be a neo-noir crime thriller, with a dark atmosphere.

The trailer of “Thoongavanam” has already crossed 1 million views, which is a clear indicator that the film is a big success already.

As more footage, promos and songs turn up, it would be interesting to see if the movie sets new records at the box office.
