The couple’s lawyer, Gagandeep Singh, said that the video had been circulating on social media for the past few days and caused the couple much pain and distress.
“The video is completely false and fabricated. It is an attempt to tarnish the couple’s reputation and extort money from them,” Singh said.
The police have registered a case against unidentified people under the IT Act and are investigating the matter.
The video, which a food blogger on Instagram posted, shows the couple preparing pizzas with cheese, vegetables, and sauces on a kulhad, a clay cup usually used for serving tea or lassi. The blogger praised the couple’s innovation and creativity who claimed they were the first to introduce this concept in Punjab.
However, only some were impressed by the ‘kulhad pizza.’ Some users commented that the couple was disrespecting the kulhad, symbolizing Indian culture and heritage.
Others said that the pizza needed to be more authentic and that the couple was spoiling the taste of both the kulhad and the pizza. Some even went to the extent of sending hateful messages and threats to the couple, asking them to stop their business.
