Watch: Couple Caught Kissing in Delhi Metro Coach; Video Goes Viral

 New Delhi, October 3, 2023: A video of a couple kissing in a Delhi Metro coach has gone viral on social media, sparking a debate about public displays of affection (PDA) in India.

In the undated video, a young couple can be seen hugging and kissing each other near the automatic doors of a moving metro train.

 The video claims that the incident occurred near the Anand Vihar metro station.

The video has angered a section of internet users, who have called the couple’s behavior “indecent” and “offensive”. Some users have also demanded that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) take action against the couple.

“This is a public place, not a hotel room,” wrote one Twitter user. “People should show some decency and respect the feelings of other commuters.”

“I was traveling with my family in the same metro coach,” wrote another user. “My children were also there. It was very embarrassing for us.”

However, some users have also defended the couple, arguing that they can publicly express their love.



“There is nothing wrong with two consenting adults kissing each other,” wrote one user. “It’s their personal life, and they should be free to do whatever they want.”

“People should stop being so judgmental,” wrote another user. “Love is beautiful, and we should celebrate it, not shame it.”

The DMRC has repeatedly urged commuters to refrain from engaging in PDA, but such incidents continue.

In June 2023, a video of a couple kissing on the floor of a metro coach also went viral.

The DMRC’s Operations & Maintenance Act lists indecency as a punishable offence under Section 59. However, it is unclear if any action has been taken against the couple in the latest incident.
