2023 has been an excellent year for movies, with certified classics and some great new names bursting onto the scene, and November will be no exception. This was only enhanced by the Barbenheimer trend, which saw two of the biggest releases of the year, “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer”, break through the box office and once again drive into theaters became the norm.
As we approach the end of the year, there is still some big news to come. Of course, October saw a surge in horror movies, thanks to Halloween at the end of the month, but November also has a whole host of epic releases before December rounds out the year with another set of great films, including “Killers of Martin Scorsese Flower Moon.”
1) ‘The Marvels’ – November 10, 2023
Few films have surpassed expectations for the MCU’s next big project. Although the studio has suffered a few minor setbacks since the end of the Thanos saga, its vast universe cannot be understated. Marvels will bring back Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Paris Mocia Rambeau.
2) ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,’ November 17, 2023
A week after The Marvels, another potential blockbuster, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, will also open in theaters. Bringing back a well-known franchise with a new story and a new main character in the form of Rachel Zegler is sure to be a worthy cause.
3) ‘The Killer,’ November 10, 2023
David Fincher’s long-awaited return with The Killer on Netflix can’t come soon enough. Boasting the signature style of the Gone Girl director and a compelling lead in Michael Fassbender, this is probably one of the most anticipated streaming releases of the year.
4) ‘Next Goal Wins’, November 17, 2023
Another Michael Fassbender starrer on the list, “Next Goal Wins,” is Taika Waititi’s highly anticipated sports drama. The film focuses on Dutch coach Thomas Rongen. Although the film did not impress critics, it is still considered one of the year’s most anticipated films.
5) ‘Wish’, November 22, 2023
Disney is trying to turn back the clock with its latest fairy tale, Wish, centered around a star that has been a motif in Disney films for a long time. Chris Pine and Ariana DeBose star in this animated film that could become a Disney classic
