Samaritan 2″ is happening as Amazon MGM Studios will be making a sequel to the 2022 action film featuring Sylvester Stallone. According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon MGM Studios has roped in Bragi F. Schut to craft the screenplay, with Schut being the writer behind the original movie.
Sylvester Stallone will once again take on the producer role alongside his Balboa Productions collaborator Braden Aftergood. Stallone is set to reprise his leading role, and this arrangement was established before the onset of the actors’ strike, as per the report.
‘Samaritan’, a fresh superhero film adapted from a 2014 graphic novel, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. The movie, initially exclusive to Prime Video starting on August 26, 2022, expanded its reach to more than 240 countries and territories across the globe. Impressively, it exceeded expectations for the company, holding the top position among films on the platform for three consecutive weeks, as per Amazon.
Directed by Julius Avery, ‘Samaritan’ follows the story of a young boy rescued from a beating by a sanitation worker. The boy believes the older man is a superhero who vanished two decades ago following a grand showdown with his arch-nemes.
