'UT69' Review: Raj Kundra Biopic Doesn't Shy Away from the Truth

“UT69-Based On A True Story,” to be released on November 3, 2023, is a biography film based on the life of Raj Kundra, a popular businessman and husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. 

The story follows Kundra’s journey from his humble beginnings to his rise to success in the business world. It also explores his personal life, including his marriage to Shetty and his controversial arrest on charges of pornography production.

Raj Kundra was granted bail after two months in jail and walked out on September 21, a day after the court granted his bail plea.

Recently, Raj Kundra shared a picture of the letters he received in jail, showing envelopes with his name and jail cell details, and a paper cutting of his wife, Shilpa Shetty and their son Viaan.

Review

UT69-Based On A True Story is a well-made and engaging film. It tells Kundra’s story in a balanced and objective way without shying away from the controversies in his life.  

Kundra delivers a powerful performance in the lead role. He convincingly portrays the many different facets of Kundra’s personality, from his ambition and drive to his vulnerability and weaknesses. 

The supporting cast is also excellent, with Farah Khan, Munawar Faruqui, and Urvashi Rautela delivering memorable performances.

OTT release

The film’s creators have yet to release any information about where or when it will be streamed. However, given the film’s high budget and star power, it is likely that it will be streamed on a major platform, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Disney+.
