The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has announced that it will host the largest fireworks display ever in the city on New Year’s Eve, as part of its efforts to boost tourism and celebrate the end of a challenging year. The spectacular show will last for 10 minutes and feature more than 40,000 pyrotechnics, creating dazzling patterns and colors in the sky above Victoria Harbour.
The HKTB has also set up a live stream of the fireworks display on its official website and social media platforms, so that people around the world can watch it online and join the countdown to 2024. The live stream will start at 11:55 p.m. on December 31, 2023, and include commentary in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
The HKTB hopes that the fireworks display will attract more visitors to Hong Kong and showcase its resilience and vibrancy as a world-class destination. The HKTB also encourages locals and tourists to enjoy the festive atmosphere and explore the city’s diverse attractions, cuisines and cultures.
The fireworks display is one of the highlights of the HKTB’s “Hong Kong Welcomes You” campaign, which aims to promote the city’s recovery and revival after the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign features a series of events and activities throughout the year, such as cultural festivals, sports events, shopping promotions and culinary experiences.
