The much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster movie “Pushpa”, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is set to release in theatres on April 14, 2024. The first part of the action thriller, directed by Sukumar, was a huge hit among the fans and critics alike, and broke several box office records.
The second part promises to be even more exciting and thrilling, as it will reveal the fate of Pushpa Raj, the red sanders smuggler who is on the run from the law and his enemies.
But the question that is on everyone’s mind is: who will bag the OTT rights for “Pushpa 2”?
According to reliable sources, several OTT platforms are vying for the digital streaming rights of the movie, and are ready to pay a massive price for it. The makers of “Pushpa 2” are reportedly expecting a whopping Rs. 200 crore for the OTT rights, which is a record-breaking amount for any Telugu movie.
So far, no official announcement has been made by the producers or the OTT platforms regarding the deal. However, some reports suggest that Amazon Prime Video is the frontrunner in the race, as it has already acquired the OTT rights for “Pushpa 1”, and has a good rapport with the makers. Other contenders include Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5 and Aha.
The movie also features Fahadh Faasil, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu and Anasuya Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. The music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, and the cinematography is by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek.
