The first day of the second Test between South Africa and India at Capetown saw 23 wickets falling with both teams getting fallout on January 3, 2023. The second day’s play is going to be very interesting as South Africa already lost three wickets of their second innings on day 1.
At the end of the first day’s play, South Africa scored 62/3 taking a thin lead of 39 runs. The rest of their batters have to really bat well and give India a good score to chase and win.
The second days play starts at 1:30 PM India time with Aiden Markram (36) and David Bedingham (1) at the crease.
With the pitch assisting pacers both teams will have to slog on the pitch to survive.
Ind vs SA 2nd Test Dramatic day 1
South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first and was all-out for a record-low score of just 55 runs on the board. Mohammad Siraj wreaked havoc on the South African top-order batting lineup and scalped a career-best six wickets for just 15 runs.
India started batting well in their first innings and were placed comfortably at 153/4. At the same score, six of the remaining Indian wickets fell at the same score.. India were all-out for 153 runs. Unbelievably seven of the Indian batsmen threw away their wickets for a duck!
SA speedsters Rabada, Lingi and Nandre took three wickets each to wrap up the Indian batting in quick time.
