The highly anticipated Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s film Bramayugam dropped its first teaser on January 11, 2024.
The teaser gives a spine-tingling glimpse into a world of darkness and secrets. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, known for his atmospheric horror film ‘Bhoothakaalam,’ ‘Bramayugam’ promises to be a unique blend of fantasy and terror.
The official teaser on YouTube has already garnered over 1.5 million views in less than 24 hours.
The teaser opens with a haunting voiceover, speaking of the passage of time and its ability to weave mysteries. We then see Arjun Ashokan’s character entering a dilapidated, moss-covered mansion, seemingly lost and seeking answers.
The shots of crumbling interiors, flickering lamps, and distorted shadows build a palpable sense of unease. As Arjun unravels the hidden corners of the house, ominous whispers and cryptic messages hint at an evil presence lurking within.
The final frame is when everyone has been waiting for Mammootty’s chilling entrance. Bathed in a dim, ethereal light, his character lets out a chilling smile, welcoming the bewildered Arjun to his “mana” (ancestral home).
This sinister grin and the eerie background score send shivers down the spine and promise a genuinely unsettling cinematic experience.
The black and white cinematography adds a vintage touch to the visuals, while the minimal dialogues amplify the dread atmosphere.
The teaser doesn’t reveal much about the plot but effectively teases a story steeped in folklore, ancient secrets, and perhaps even a touch of the supernatural.
The movie was written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan and produced by Ramachandra Chakravarthy and S. Sashikanth. The film is a psychological thriller that revolves around the mysterious events at a hotel named Nirvana Inn.
