Ayan Mukerji came to support Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao at “Laapataa Ladies” special screening on Tuesday evening.“Laapataa Ladies” is gaining momentum as the film is nearing its release on March 1 this year.
Ahead of the film’s release, a special screening was held in Mumbai on Monday, February 27, for Bollywood celebs. Also present was filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, a close friend of Kiran Rao. As ayan reached the venue, he gave Kiran a tight hug and the video is going viral now. Ayan and Kiran held each other tightly for sometime, giving one another a warm hug.

Ayan and Kiran go a long back. At 19, Ayan joined the crew of Swades as an assistant director. Interestingly, he had once shared a throwback picture on Instagram from the film’s muhurat, featuring Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Ashutosh Gowarikar. Aamir had a special role in Swades – snapping the clapboard on Day 1 of filming.

On the work front, Ayan has since directed three films – “Wake Up Sid” and “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” and “sci-fi” movie “Brahmastra”, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. He is now gearing up to direct Hrithik Roshan in YRF Spy Universe’s “War 2″. “War 2″ will be an action spectacle like never before and as suggested by the post-credit sequence of Kabir, this one would be a little darker and gritty,” a source had earlier informed.
Meanwhile, the special screening of the film was attended by several Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amol Parashar, Ali Fazal, Radhika Apte, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Sayani Gupta among others. Aamir’s daughter Ira Khan also attended the screening with her husband Nupur Shikhare.As the trailer of the film has introduced the audience to the humorous world created by director Kiran Rao, it has piqued everyone’s excitement to witness this comedy-drama starring Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastav, and Nitanshi Goel along with Ravi Kishan.
