Malayalam movie ‘Mudhugavu’ review: It is as sweet as a gentle kiss

Action Superstar of Mollywood, Suresh Gopi will be a happy man, as his son Gokul Suresh’s debut movie ”Mudhugavu” was released all around Kerala on May 13, 2016.

The movie which is produced by the reputed production firm ‘Friday Film House’ has succeeded in impressing the young audiences of the state, and reviews coming out in the initial hours are mainly positive.

The Producers of the film Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas had huge expectations while launching the star kid, and finally, their efforts have turned fruitful.

”Mudhugavu” showcases a light-hearted love story in the backdrop of fun and thrill. Gokul Suresh who enacted the character of a care-free young man falls in love with a girl, and everything was fine till Rambo entered the scene.

The dreaded yet comic villain turns their life upside down, and the remaining journey of the couples to overcome all their issues forms the major crux of the movie.

Director Vipin Das has paced the movie very well in both the halves. The interval punch is mind blowing and it makes the audiences eagerly wait for the second half.

The screenplay is not that impeccable, but with uncompromising filmmaking, the director offers us a decent watch through this flick.

Gokul Suresh, through this debut film proved that he has extraordinary acting skills just like his father. In many scenes, he reminded us of the young Suresh Gopi who ruled Mollywood in the 1990s.

In all probabilities, Gokul will emerge as a romantic hero, and will surely give heavy threat to Nivin and Dulquer in the coming days.

Arthana, daughter of actor Vijayakumar has done the role of lady lead in the flick. She was cute, and her onscreen chemistry with the lead male star was awesome.

Box Office verdict of ”Mudhugavu” is unpredictable. As Suresh Gopi entered the Rajya Sabha as a BJP candidate, some communities in Kerala have started campaigns against the actor, and it may reflect in the collection of this movie.

If you are a genuine film lover who wishes to see a simple love story, then book the tickets of “Mudhugavu” without any hesitation.
