Ring Plunges As Stranger Things Star Says Yes Under the Sea
Millie Bobby Brown disclosed new details surrounding Jake Bongiovi’s marriage proposal, revealing how the magical moment underwater nearly turned disastrous. In an appearance on The Tonight Show, Brown told Jimmy Fallon that Bongiovi proposed while they were scuba diving together.
Proposal Comes During Regular Ocean Dive
Brown explained that diving is a shared passion, so she didn’t suspect anything out of the ordinary when Bongiovi insisted on hitting their usual dive spot very early one morning. But he soon pulled out a ring wrapped in a shell, asking the question via hand signals underwater.
Ring Slips Off, Sends Bongiovi on Deep Retrieval Mission
In saying yes with the OK hand gesture, Brown accidentally sent the ring flying off her finger, watching it plummet into the sea. She says Bongiovi then threw himself into a dangerously deep dive to heroically retrieve the lost ring.
While far from the flawless proposal plan, Brown calls the near-disaster reflective of Bongiovi’s dedication and their mutual support. And even with ring-loss panic underwater, she still managed to accept his dramatic seaside proposal.
So Bongiovi ultimately managed to secure the Stranger Things star’s hand in marriage, even if securing the engagement ring itself required split-second daring.
