Lord Shiva, also known as Mahadev is revered as the Creator, Preserver, and Destroyer. The world began with him and even when the world will be destroyed and lose its’ existence, Lord Shiva will be there.
Maha Shivratri is a Hindu festival that marks the divine union of Mata Parvati and Lord Shiva. Devotees keep fasts, offer prayers and chant mantras. Maha Shivratri is considered to be very auspicious for women who keep fast and pray to Lord Shiva for their husbands’ longevity. Unmarried women also keep fast and pray to Mahadev to bless them with an ideal husband like him. However, any devotee regardless of gender, when prays to Mahadev with pure devotion and honesty, Lord Shiva grants him blessings.
