Every profession allows its employees to have a holiday or go on a little vacation. It is only the mothers around the world who work around the clock 365 days a year. Some moms even step outside the house to earn a living for themselves and their families or maybe to build a career for themselves!
Whatever the reason, National Working Moms Day is celebrated every year on March 12 to honor these moms who juggle a lot of responsibilities but never complain. They look after their house while playing a crucial role even outside their house to make money.
History of National Working Moms Day
National Working Moms Day was established in 1983 by the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). For more than 40 years, this day has been celebrated around the world, honouring working women who are also full-time mothers on duty.
From teachers, and lawyers to caregivers or even women who work from home, Working moms are amazing caregivers and ideal role models for society and their children. They provide care and warmth to their family while dealing with outside work and societal pressures, with determination and perseverance.
How to Celebrate Working Mom’s Day
If you have a mom who is also a career woman and provider to your family, thank her. Maybe you can gift her hand made card and some small gifts and that would be enough to light up her entire day.
If you have a budget to spend on trips, then send your mom on a small trip to a place she wants to visit or book her a spa treatment at a nice salon. Trust me, she deserves it!
You can also support working moms by finding out local business owners that are owned by working mothers. Do some research on them and shop from them or contribute to their business by volunteering to help or offering monetary support to those amazing moms who manage their career and their homes simultaneously and magically.
However, if your mom is a stay-at-home mom and doesn’t have a career outside, please don’t step back. Instead, buy her something or take her out for a nice lunch or dinner. Working outside or not, a mother needs to be appreciated for the constant care and support she provides her family 24/7.
