This year, Ramakrishna Paramahansa Jayanti will be celebrated on March 12, 2024, to honor the birthday of the great spiritual guru who was born in India.
Who is Ramakrishna?
Ramakrishna was born in the year 1836. The day is considered to be very auspicious and marks the birth of one of the most spiritual gurus in India. He was a spiritual person and a mystic who successfully attained spiritual enlightenment.
His Teachings are taught around the world even today, thus signifying their’ relevance. Ramakrishna comes from a humble family background and had received very minimal education as a child. However, since a young age, he was highly spiritual and indulged most of his time in doing prayers and practicing meditation. He had a desire to be in the direct presence of God and this drove him to study other spiritual texts and traditions, including /Islam, Hinduism and Christianity!
Ramakrishna was also a teacher and guided many people along the road to spirituality. One of his disciples was Swami Vivekananda- the great Indian Philosopher.
Ramakrishna’s Role in people’s lives
The teachings of the great guru are read even today! He thoroughly believed that all religions are paths leading to God and emphasized to his disciples to treat every religion with respect. According to him, the ultimate destination for mortals is to become one with God. He preached the importance of spiritual learning, which helps to form deep bonds between individuals and God.
The Ramakrishna Mission was founded by him. It provides spiritual guidance to all individuals, irrespective of their faith. He is an icon of love, devotion, self-growth and spirituality.
