“Smoking causes Cancer” – a term everyone is acquainted with but very few adhere to!
No Smoking Day falls on March 13 this year. The Day is observed as a reminder of the harmful effects of smoking. What starts as a one-time, two-time thing slowly becomes a habit, causing serious health issues. Smoking can lead to asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia and in the worst cases can be the cause of your death!
History of ‘No Smoking Day’
The concept originally came from the United Kingdom. The date was later fixed on the second Wednesday of March and since then every second Wednesday of March marks ‘No Smoking Day’.
In 2010, a campaign was launched to urge smokers to break free from the evil chains of smoking. The campaign was named the “Break Free” campaign. Many Celebrities and Influencers also promote No Smoking Day to raise awareness amongst people.
