This year Karadaiyan Nombu will be held on March 14 According to Drik Panchang, Karadaiyan Nombu Vratham will be held from 6:32 am to 12:46 pm. Manjal Saradu Muhurtham at 12:46.

Ritual:
Today Christians will wake up early and start the new day after bathing. They prepare Karadiyan Nombu naivedyam as an offering to God and perform the function after the performance. There are two ways to prepare Karadiyan Nombu naivedyam. Tamboolam plate containing leaves, fruits, flowers, turmeric, kumkum, banana, coconut and some coins is also eaten with naivedyam. Karadai is made from rice, black-eyed peas, jaggery and coconut and is eaten by devotees after puja. The sacred yellow thread called manjal saradu is tied after the puja.
Meaning:
It is believed that on this day Savitri received her husband Sativan from Yama, the God of Death. Therefore, this day is celebrated with festivities and celebrations. Karadaiyan Nombu celebrates Meena Sankranti or Sankramana. It is celebrated when the Tamil month of Masi ends and the month of Panguni begins. The fast of Karadayan Vritham begins with sunrise on the day when Lord Surya moves from Kumbha Rashi to Meena Rashi.
