This marked the beginning of the Indian Army’s seal fireball. They established an arms factory in Ishapore in 1787 and started production in 1791.
In 1801, the British established a large shipping center in Cossipore, Calcutta, and started production on 18 March 1802. This marked the establishment of the first artillery guns. Factories in India are still in operation today.

OFB is considered the Fourth Defense Force, one of the four major defense forces of the country, along with the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
