According to Free Press Journal, Virat Kohli will return to the tournament for the first time in three games against Afghanistan in January since the one-match T20I series. The former skipper missed the five Tests against England due to personal rest. Kohli gave birth to son Akaay with wife Anushka Sharma in London. The batting legend performed well in the IPL last year, scoring 639 runs, including 200 with six half-centuries.
RCB, which failed to win the IPL, will face the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024 season opener in Chennai on Friday. Kohli’s performance in the lucrative T20 league will be closely watched as he heads towards the T20 World Cup in the United States and the Caribbean.
