Raman Raghav 2.0: Murderer chases drug-addicted detective

The release date of Raman Raghav 2.0 is right around the corner, and director Anurag Kashyap has been busy otherwise. He has teamed up with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, yet again, to create a promising film that is set to be released on 24th of June.

With their first major combined effort, they did not only take the box office by storm but also won the hearts of the critics. The trailer that portrays a psychotic killer played by Nawazuddin, has been creating some buzz around B-Town for quite some time, now.

In an interview with TOI, the actor revealed that his character emptied him as a person, as he took a toll on him. It was important that the director showed the world of the killer rather than what others see him as, and this is what took a big piece out of him.

So much so, that he was hospitalized for it. In another interview co-actor Vicky Kaushal also revealed that filming the film in 21 days took a toll on him. The hectic schedule took a toll on him but the tired look helped him with the character.

As far as Director Anurag Kashyap is concerned, he is known for his off-beat taste and impeccable execution of complex scripts and characters has not said much about the film that received much praise at the Cannes film festival.

Recently he took on the censor board with his co-produced film ‘Udta Punjab’. He has had that kind of a relationship with the censor board with the board right from the start of his career, when his first film ‘Paanch’ was banned.

However, this film has avoided any such confrontation, and his valued hardcore fans would be relieved for this.
