Yoga Is Not A Religious Activity, Says Narendra Modi

Millions of Indian citizens from different parts of the nation joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 21, 2016, to celebrate the International Yoga Day. The Indian PM addressed people at the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, and it was soon followed by a mass Yoga session.

The ground is being safeguarded with heavy security, and the officials have deployed 4000 paramilitary jawans and 3000 Police officers in the area. According to reports, the Union Territory Administration has spent more than Rs 14 Crore for the smooth functioning of this event.

According to Narendra Modi, Yoga Day has now emerged as a “Jan Aandolan” (People’s Movement) since its beginning in last year. He stated that Yoga is not a religious practice, and there is no need of dragging this day to controversy. He made it clear that citizens who wish to maintain good physical and mental health can do it daily to fetch the benefits.
