Shubh muhurat:
It is believed that Samvatsara (sixty-year cycle) begins on the day of Gudi Padwa. These sixty years are marked with unique names. According to Drik Panchang, Pratipada Tithi will start on April 8 at 23:50 and end on April 9 at 20:30.
Rituals:
On Gudi Padwa, people start the day with an oil bath and pray in the morning. They also drink neem leaves, jaggery and other seeds. After this, puja dedicated to Brahma is performed. Hawan prays to Lord Vishnu and his incarnations.
The ancient flute refers to a flag made of copper coins, decorated with yellow cloth, and fixed on a bamboo pole. Women prepare beautiful gudis at home and decorate their homes with rangoli designs.
