Netflix has dropped a tantalizing teaser for its upcoming biographical series, “Senna“, which offers a captivating look into the life and legacy of Formula 1 racing icon Ayrton Senna. The show, set to premiere in late 2024, will delve into Senna’s remarkable journey from his early days in motor racing to his tragic passing.
In this first teaser video, we witness the recreation of Ayrton Senna’s historic victory at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos. Despite facing challenges during the race, including being primarily stuck in sixth gear, Senna secured a memorable win in his hometown of Sao Paulo.
The narration by Galvão Bueno adds to the excitement as we glimpse possible thoughts and experiences that shaped Senna’s career. The series also introduces iconic characters from his life, including Xuxa, Alain Prost, and Ron Dennis.
Senna will span six episodes, revealing Ayrton’s triumphs, disappointments, joys, and sorrows. From his early days competing in Formula Ford in England to the tragic accident at the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, the series promises an intimate exploration of his personality and personal relationships.
The talented cast includes Gabriel Leone as Ayrton Senna, Alice Wegmann, Camila Márdila, Christian Malheiros, and others. International actors such as Kaya Scodelario, Arnaud Viard, and Leon Ockenden also contribute to this gripping portrayal of one of the world’s greatest sports heroes.
